I tried calling Cyclops and their Customer Service number was busy 24/7 for three days straight! I ended up sending them an email. Another week went by and no response; I wrote them again. Still nothing.... bottom line is the spotlight worked great but if you need replacement parts like a battery or bulb forget it.

The manual does not go into enough depth on a few items, but a quick phone call to Technical Services answered all my questions. The Technician was VERY courteous and intelligent It also comes with a power cable (Well built) that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter in a vehicle. This bypasses the internal SLA battery and powers the light 100% by the vehicle. I think the price is appropriate considering the super unit that it is.

Makita ML180 18-Volt Pivoting Head Flashlight Review

My boss had Makita cordless tools on the job so I figured for the sake of charging and interchanging batteries my cordless tool purchase should be Makita. I own the 18 volt combo pack:drill,reciprocating saw,circular saw,charger and The Flashlight. As with the other Makita flashlights on the truck,(both 14.4 volt)I found a problem with the design.The electrical contacts eventually(not long after my purchase) loosen up to the point of needing constant manipulation by way of moving the bulb portion (top half) of the flashlight.I wonder,.. what's the point of having an adjustable light, if you have to constantly keep moving the thing around to get the light to stay lit?
When it does work, I will say it's plenty bright, lasts long, fits well in your hand and stands well on it's own.
I don't recommend the flashlight (18v or 14.4v) to anyone frequently needing this tool on the job.

Streamlight 75713 Stinger Led Rechargeable Flashlight Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this flashlight for law enforcement duty; within a week of when I started using it, the rubber power button fell off the flashlight. I was lucky enough to find it in a parking lot, and I replaced it, but within two more days of use, the button vanished again, this time for good. I've spoken to at least two other people with similar problems using this model of flashlight.

Streamlight so far has been completely unresponsive to my requests for customer support, neither returning my voice mails nor my e-mails. It's an impressive flashlight that casts a good beam, but for the one moving part to fail twice within the first two weeks of use is unacceptable. Even more unacceptable is their refusal to communicate with their customers. This flashlight is simply too expensive for poor customer service. I've already decided that when I buy a tactical light for my pistol, it won't be a model made by Streamlight.

Mitycross 400 Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned a Cygolite MityCross 350 headlight for 18 months now, and was initially not too excited about the MityCross 400, with nearly identical specs other than a 50 lumen increase.
However, I saw a difference...the new OSP (On-Site Programmable) feature, supposedly allowing settings to be modified.I found a great price on this light, and decided to try out this feature, and see what else was new.

Here are my initial observations on the changes from the 350 to the 400, in detail:
++ Beam pattern is slightly wider to the sides, with less blue color, and is brighter (slightly different optics/LEDs as well)
++ OSP setting allows programming of Medium, Low, Daylight Flash, and Walking modes (more detail below)
+ Entering flash mode is signalled by a dimming of the light while the power button is held (on the 350, there is no indication of how long to hold down the button to enter flash mode)
+ Exiting High/Medium/Low brightness is accompanied by a gradual transition to off
+ Demo mode (accessed by holding down the power button while plugging in the battery) can now be used to change the OSP settings
- The charger has changed to a wall adapter, rather than an in-line adapter (power brick)
= Aside from these changes, the battery, housing, connectors, and mounting hardware are kept the same

OSP Breakdown
Four of the six modes can be changed.The Medium, Low, and Walking modes can have the brightness set to virtually anything the LEDs are capable of (from ~20 to ~350 lumens by my estimate).This will obviously affect battery life greatly.(A quirk is that the Low setting can be made brighter than the Medium setting)
The Daylight Flash settings are different than the previous three; the rate between each set of flashes can be changed from the default 0.6s to between 0.3s-2.2s.By comparison, the MityCross 350 has a pause of 1.0s between each set of three flashes.
In my opinion, the ability to decrease this delay to 0.3s is the most important upgrade to the MityCross, as the 350 flash felt too slow at 1s (nevertheless, it is very useful and powerful).
As per the instructions, an extremely helpful video on how to use OSP is available at cygolite.com / tutorial.

Conclusion: The MityCross 400 not a major upgrade from the 350, as even the improved flash mode and OSP probably cannot compete with the Cygolite MiLion and Expilion flash modes.
However, this is the true multipurpose light, having enough power to light roads and trails during high speed riding, or putting out a very powerful strobe in the same package.My recommendation is to go with the MityCross 320 if you are interested in the OSP feature (it is priced 40-50 lower than the MityCross 400, and there are great deals if you look around).

(More customer reviews)I come from a family of peace officers and firefighters and I've known the brand Streamlight as far back as I can remember.These lights are tough, durable and more importantly BRIGHT!My brother who is in police academy told me that his instructor requested the students to purchase this particular flashlight because of the strobe feature, which can be used for tactical entry as well as a temporary defense. (The experience of encountering a bright strobing light can cause dizziness and even nausea in some people.)At any rate, I purchased this light from Amazon.com and liked it so well that I decided to get one for myself.After some shopping around I did find this item at a local store (a plumbing supply company of all places) for $95 which only included one charger.Not a problem.

When the light is turned on it by default uses high intensity.If you keep the power button depressed, in about one second the intensity of the beam will start to decrease to "medium" and a "low" intensity.The strobe function is activated when the power button is rapidly pressed twice.Streamlight does offer a power button located on the "[...]" of the flashlight for power access for "over-handed" use, and is an optional feature.

The battery is considered fully charged after being charged for 12-14 hours...so it takes a while; however, the battery memory is not altered if the battery is not completely discharged regularly.This means that the life span of the battery charge is not diminished if the light sits in the charger for weeks at a time.I consider this a HUGE PLUS!

So, if you're on the fence about purchasing this flashlight, I can honestly say that you will not be disappointed in the performance of this Polystinger.I'm seriously considering getting another one for the car.

**And if you do decide to go with this unit, whatever you do, DO NOT LOOK INTO THE FLASHLIGHT while it is on!!! it is VERY bright!

The light has a very powerful bright high beam that looks like a projected beam of light. I have purchased almost every light on the market and I continue to purchase this model over & over again. I use this model on the job every day and found this model the best buy and most powerful. As with all of these type of lights, they have a battery life of about 20 minutes on full power. The two LED side lights work for hours. The best feature on this model is the plug in recharger built into the back of the light. Recharging two ways, just plug it into a 120 volt electrical cord or plugged into a DC car lighter. The weight balance is good and handles well.

This little light is super bright almost as bright as my Stanley 1 Million candle power light. This is probley the most prower full LED light on the market. Nothing comes close. To use it as an emergency power failure light, you should leave this flashlight in 'ON' position, and plug it into an AC outlet. The light goes out while it is being recharged. But when the power goes out, or when you unplug it from the outlet, the light comes back on immediately.

You can also leave the unit in 'nightlight' mode while it is being recharged. But in this case, the flashlight remains on 24 hours a day since there is no light sensor. The light is actually too bright when used in bedroom. But it is just perfect for basement or hallways where you always need some illumination. Plus you'll never have to search for a flashlight again.

Some other points that I like:
- Unlike many other power failure lights, this one does NOT cover both AC outlets when it is plugged in.
- It can be mounted in either up or down directions.
- It only consumes 1W when recharging in nightlight mode.

There is one thing I don't quite understand: The flashlight is powered by a single NiMH button cell, Varta CP300H, with capacity of only 300mAh. It seems to me there is enough space to fit an AAA NiMH cell with capacity of 800+ mAh, or even an AA NiMH cell with capacity of 2000+ mAh. By doing this, the battery run time will be extended by several folds. But more importantly, I will be able to swap in alkaline cells when the rechargeable battery runs out!

On the other hand, the main purpose of this flashlight is just to help me find my other flashlights in case of a blackout. So for that I'm completely satisfied.

It came with both a 12V and 120V charger so you can go camping or whatever and charge it from your car. Both chargers are designed for the flashlight to be able to be in them continually, so you don't have to worry about overcharging. If I had one complaint it is that the beam doesn't focus from wide to spot very well, but it's so bright that you won't be needing a spot anyway.

Key points - flashlight battery life about one hour between charges. How do you get a beam so bright - by running the bulb hot so bulb life is quoted as 40 hour so I suggest getting a spare, they're reasonably priced. The beam is a clean white light!
