Weighing 12.8 ounces, the Streamlight Stinger DS LED Flashlight is 8.85 inches long, 1.17 inches in diameter at the body, and 1.62 inches in diameter at the head. The Stinger DS features three brightness levels: producing 180 lumens of light for two hours at the highest brightness, 95 lumens for three hours and 45 minutes at the medium brightness, and 45 lumens for seven hours and 15 minutes at the low brightness. The strobe function has a run time of up to five hours and 30 minutes.
The rechargeable three-cell, 3.6-volt sub-C nickel-cadmium battery (included) saves you time and money and can be recharged up to 1,000 times (charger included). It will steady charge in ten hours, or in two and a half hours on an optional fast, or PiggyBack, charger.

Optimized electronics provide regulated intensity, and the deep-dish parabolic reflector produces a tight beam with optimum peripheral illumination to aid in navigation. The C4 LED is impervious to shock and has a 50,000-hour lifetime.
Multi-Function Push Button for Convenient Operation
The Stinger DS feature dual-switch technology. Designed for long life and tested at one million actuations, the multi-function, on/off push-button switches are located at the head and tail cap. Convenient and easy to use, each switch independently clicks through all light modes--high beam, medium beam, low beam, or strobe.
Durably Constructed for Use in Extreme Conditions
Machined from solid, aircraft-grade aluminum, the Stinger DS features a nonslip, rubberized grip for increased comfort and an unbreakable and scratch-resistant polycarbonate lens. It is ideal for use in automotive, hardware, law enforcement, security, sporting, and outdoor applications.

Makita ML180 18-Volt Pivoting Head Flashlight Review

(More customer reviews)As an electrician, I use a flashlight almost everyday in and out of attics and crawl spaces,also for fishing wires. My boss had Makita cordless tools on the job so I figured for the sake of charging and interchanging batteries my cordless tool purchase should be Makita. I own the 18 volt combo pack:drill,reciprocating saw,circular saw,charger and The Flashlight. As with the other Makita flashlights on the truck,(both 14.4 volt)I found a problem with the design.The electrical contacts eventually(not long after my purchase) loosen up to the point of needing constant manipulation by way of moving the bulb portion (top half) of the flashlight.I wonder,.. what's the point of having an adjustable light, if you have to constantly keep moving the thing around to get the light to stay lit?
When it does work, I will say it's plenty bright, lasts long, fits well in your hand and stands well on it's own.
I don't recommend the flashlight (18v or 14.4v) to anyone frequently needing this tool on the job.

My only previous reference is Maglight and excuse the pun but they do not hold a candle to Streamlight. I have recommended these to my friends and would continue to do so.

(More customer reviews)After years of dealing with inferior product I finally made a significant investment in a quality flashlight that I can depend on, and this one did not disappoint me. It came with both a 12V and 120V charger so you can go camping or whatever and charge it from your car. Both chargers are designed for the flashlight to be able to be in them continually, so you don't have to worry about overcharging. If I had one complaint it is that the beam doesn't focus from wide to spot very well, but it's so bright that you won't be needing a spot anyway.

Key points - flashlight battery life about one hour between charges. How do you get a beam so bright - by running the bulb hot so bulb life is quoted as 40 hour so I suggest getting a spare, they're reasonably priced. The beam is a clean white light!

(More customer reviews)Overall this is a very good flashlight.The head swivels so that when you are using it, it can be placed down and the light still directed where needed.The light itself is very bright, so you can see what you are working on, or where you are walking.The Lithium battery has a longer life span then the older style batteries, so it will last for the time you need it to complete most projects.

The one down side is that the handle opening is small, so that if you are a man (or someone with larger hands) you will have some difficulty holding it.If you have smaller hands, it should be no problem.
