(More customer reviews)I purchased a similar spotlight by Cyclops approximately a year ago. I have used it three/four times. I went to use it again this week and it won't turn on. I tried calling Cyclops and their Customer Service number was busy 24/7 for three days straight! I ended up sending them an email. Another week went by and no response; I wrote them again. Still nothing.... bottom line is the spotlight worked great but if you need replacement parts like a battery or bulb forget it.

(More customer reviews)It takes a lot to completely please me with most products, but this one has done it. It is WAY WAY WAY Bright! Much brighter than my HID suv headlights. The manual does not go into enough depth on a few items, but a quick phone call to Technical Services answered all my questions. The Technician was VERY courteous and intelligent It also comes with a power cable (Well built) that can be plugged into a cigarette lighter in a vehicle. This bypasses the internal SLA battery and powers the light 100% by the vehicle. I think the price is appropriate considering the super unit that it is.

Makita ML180 18-Volt Pivoting Head Flashlight Review

(More customer reviews)As an electrician, I use a flashlight almost everyday in and out of attics and crawl spaces,also for fishing wires. My boss had Makita cordless tools on the job so I figured for the sake of charging and interchanging batteries my cordless tool purchase should be Makita. I own the 18 volt combo pack:drill,reciprocating saw,circular saw,charger and The Flashlight. As with the other Makita flashlights on the truck,(both 14.4 volt)I found a problem with the design.The electrical contacts eventually(not long after my purchase) loosen up to the point of needing constant manipulation by way of moving the bulb portion (top half) of the flashlight.I wonder,.. what's the point of having an adjustable light, if you have to constantly keep moving the thing around to get the light to stay lit?
When it does work, I will say it's plenty bright, lasts long, fits well in your hand and stands well on it's own.
I don't recommend the flashlight (18v or 14.4v) to anyone frequently needing this tool on the job.

(More customer reviews)This light came free when I purchased the drill driver combo. It is much better than the incandesant light I received from another Makita promotion. It will light up an attic or crawl space with ease. Just rember to have an extra battery with you, it goes out with NO warning does not flicker or go dim, just out! How can you complain about something for nothing, you can't! Tough light too. I have dropped it got it wet and it has not stopped working yet. I can't even remember how long I have had it and I have never changed the bulb. Look for drill/driver kits, this light is always free. If not 42 dollars light, 85 dollars battery 127 dollars? Drill/driver kit, two tools, two batteries, light and charger with a case. All for around two hundred dollars.
Free equals junk right, NOT with this light. I love it and use it all the time.

(More customer reviews)This is a very powerful light. In fact, the video I have uploaded really does not do the spotlight justice to just how bright this thing is! You may wonder why you would have a need for such a bright light, but it really can come in handy. I have it in case our dog gets lost at night, or if we think there is a potential threat (aka potential intruder) in our yard. However, the light is also a great choice for camping or possibly marine applications.

Pros-

- Very direct beam - the light is narrow and penetrating
- Charges fully within 8 hours
- Has a car adapter
- Not too heavy
- Affordable

Areas for improvement

- Other spotlights have two settings - Ultra-bright and one that is less intense that is handy for saving the battery.
- Need to keep an eye on how long it charges - charging for over 24 hours can ruin the battery.
- Like all powerful Halogen lights - it generates heat. Be careful leaving the light on an unattended.

Final Verdict - Great light- I am very happy with its performance.

(More customer reviews)This is a nice addition to the De Walt 18 volt cordless lineup. I have used the gooseneck light for years. Since I have a plethora of 18 volt batteries from other tools in the series, it makes sense for me to use this for lighting as well.

The gooseneck does a better job for task specific lighting like under a sink or peering between studs. I use this one to provide overall lighting where the power is completely out in a room or space, and it isn't worth bringing in power cords from elsewhere or setting up a generator. This augments my gooseneck nicely.

I have used this light for three weeks doing rewiring. Do not purchase it and use it as your ONLY light source in a totally dark location. The incandescent models will fade and dim when the battery voltage drops. This fluorescent will stop suddenly with no warning when the voltage goes below what the electronics need to drive the lamp. For safety's sake, use it to augment other lighting.
