(More customer reviews)If you are looking for a portable cordless spotlight this is the light I would recommend. The light has a very powerful bright high beam that looks like a projected beam of light. I have purchased almost every light on the market and I continue to purchase this model over & over again. I use this model on the job every day and found this model the best buy and most powerful. As with all of these type of lights, they have a battery life of about 20 minutes on full power. The two LED side lights work for hours. The best feature on this model is the plug in recharger built into the back of the light. Recharging two ways, just plug it into a 120 volt electrical cord or plugged into a DC car lighter. The weight balance is good and handles well.

Black & Decker FSL18FL FIRESTORM 18 volt Cordless Flashlight Review

(More customer reviews)I bought my Firestorm 18 Volt as part of a set. Black and Decker is the cheapest of all multi-tool to one battery brand. For me, the craze started with a Leaf Sweeper that was battery powered. The "Leaf Blower" only works for 30 minutes and loses most of it's power within the first 15 minutes or so. Anyway, I bought a set that included a drill, hand vac, flashlight and another battery. The hand vac is a joke, while the rest I have found very useful. Surprisingly, the flashlight was the best purchase of all. The light is brighter than most cheap large flashlight and it's design makes it perfect for many different jobs. Sadly, after a couple of years of use the bulb has finally blown. Normally, this would be no big deal, but THERE are no common Replacement BULBS! I have looked everywhere. The only place that I have found with replacements offer them at $2 a bulb or 10 for $15 with $7 shipping. I originally spent $40 for the collection of tools and now I find out the Flashlight was worth $30 by itself. I suggest one save their money, but the flash light is still pretty good for the money. The best advice is to buy it with a set of tools, so you get your money's worth.

Vector 1089A 12 V Battery Charger Review

(More customer reviews)I've owned this charger (Vector 1088) for a few years, and probably used it 15-20 times. It was a fantastic product out of the box, with ease of use and a range of electronically controlled functions I'd never enjoyed in a car battery charger. The case is surprisingly well-constructed considering it's made of a lot of plastic parts. The touchpad still operates well and is very logically arranged. But over time it's failed to hold up.

It's developed a buzz, starting last year, which is growing worse. I suspect a capacitor in the power supply is going out. It never charged marginal batteries well; it always refused to deal with severely drained cells. And it's been giving me bogus F03 error codes for a while now. The cooling fan started whacking out last summer, and the bearing noise got so bad that I disassembled it to lubricate the fan bearings (cheap fan, seen it many times on PCs). It doesn't like cold temperatures; it acts erratically in frigid weather and I've learned to just remove batteries and bring the whole assembly indoors to get a good charge. Again I suspect subpar electrical components.

Overall I can't enthusiastically recommend this charger, but neither can I un-recommend it if a buyer finds one at a reasonable price. My previous charger, an old-style mechanical Schumacher, lasted a month before it literally fell apart in my hands. I have no idea what to buy next, or if anyone really makes a reliable automotive battery charger anymore. I guess "good" is relative.

(More customer reviews)I purchased my first Power On Board 25 Amp Fully Automatic Battery Charger from Sam's Club for ten dollars more than the current Amazon price including shipping.The device, alternatively marketed as a Vector or Black & Decker product, requires only a single button push to automatically select the proper charging rate for the attached battery.The peak charge rate is 25A, but the unit can also pump out 75A for up to 1.5 minutes to jumpstart your car.

Lead-acid batteries that have remained in a discharged state for a long time internally build up lead sulfate which can inhibit normal charging. This charger has an operating mode designed to recondition sulfated batteries.

A cooling fan runs while charging, but turns off when charging is complete.The unit then automatically switches to float mode to maintain the battery at full charge.This is very important not only for convenience, but also to prolong battery life.Since the fan turns off after topping off the battery, it works well for building up relatively inexpensive, large capacity, indoor UPSs built around deep cycle batteries (make sure that the battery area is well ventilated and place the battery on an acid resistant drip pan to prevent damaging the floor).

The lightweight, compact, microprocessor controlled charger features a backlit, scrolling LCD display that provides charge rates, status messages and battery diagnostic information.The device is built well, especially considering its low price.The battery clamps have copper contacts and the cabling is heavy gauge.All cables can be stowed inside the charger.

From my experience with the Power On Board 25 Amp Fully Automatic Battery Charger, the device is an outstanding bargain.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this charger to charge the battery on my lawn tractor, that's all (although this will work for all of my vehicles too)!I didn't want aportable unit to jumpstart a vehicle or charge other accessories (this is just a vehicle batter charger like the box says).This charger is very simple to use with a one-touch button interface to get things going.I don't know anything about charging batteries or jumping vehicles but I was able to set this up and start charging in about 1 minute.

The included instructions are easy to follow and the charger is ready to go right out of the box.Connect the terminals per the instructions for what you are charging; plug the charger into a standard wall outlet (check for fault light indicating an incorrect connection) then press the one and only button to toggle to the desired amp level (explained in the instructions).

The amp levels are easy to see so selecting the correct one is easy to do.This charger is also fully automatic and will properly charge the battery on it's own at it's own pace for best performance and battery safety.The charger will tell you when it's done charging or if anything is wrong (if that's the case it will display the fault light or will just shut down).

I really like the foolproof design and features (the cables store in the back of the charger) of this simple easy to use charger.I'm not a very handy guy and electricity does make me a little nervous, but using this charger has been a great experience and a joy to use.Whether pro or beginner if you need a battery charger but are a little intimidated by the experience try this one you'll love it!
