(More customer reviews)Ive used this unit to successfully start my car when the battery was dead.I have 2 of these units, however, when i plug one of the units in to recharge it, the "charging" indicator light doesn't go on. The light does go on when charging the second unit.I'm not sure if its just the indicator light that's bad orif there is some problem with the unit accepting the charge.This is the reason for 3 star. It's fairly expensive and now i need to replace the unit that doesnt charge, i cant rely on it. I'm going to try the black and decker 450.

(More customer reviews)I had this jumper battery for a few months and I didn't use it until now that my friend's Saturn Vue V6 engine was not starting. I connected the clamps to his battery and the car started immediately. The battery status on this unit has 3 lights (red-yellow-green) and is very useful to know when to recharge it. It was on yellow status but it still could start several cars with ease. The air compressor and the flash light on the unit are also very useful. A very handy equipment for the price (when I bought it, it was $80)
I would recommend it.

(More customer reviews)Bought this last week and gave it the full 36 hour charge.Tested it this weekend on my dad's 1988 Ford Escort. (4 Cylinder engine).To test it, I disconnected the negative cable from the Escort battery.The IP-75 started it, but barely.When I brought my dad out to see a second demonstration, it failed.Conditions were ideal; 70 degrees in the shade on the driveway.It's probably fine for motorcycles, lawn mowers or ATV's, but it's not really enough for much more.It's only 7 Amp hours.I think 12 Amp hours is the minimum for confidence.

(More customer reviews)The reasons that I bought this charger is because it has a docking stations which can be used to charge and store the unit when not in use. After the charging is completed, the docking station will enter a "floating charge" mode to prevent overcharging. Some other charger need to be monitored carefully since overcharging can damage the battery. With this unit, I can just leave it and forget it... Also, this unit is small enough that my wife can use it to jumpstart her minivan. Some other multifunction charger are so heavy, you'd have to be a weightlifter to carry the thing.

It's been charging over 24 hours now and the charging light stays green, it doesn't change to red as mentioned in the manual.

When I attempted to use it, thinking the battery was fully charged ( Maybe it came completely charged that's why it was green all the time), it's actually the opposite, the battery is completely drained.

(More customer reviews)Fair warning, I know less than squat about car batteries and chargers. I left the hatch open on my car for several days and I guess the light being on drained the battery. So I went down to the auto parts store and picked this out by the innie-minnie method. Basically, I liked that it was not as huge like the other models and it said it would jump start as well as charge (also tests alternator). Looked good to me.

Back in the garage, I had time so rather than jump start, I selected charge and everything seemed to go according to plan. The charger has a meter and it showed that battery was partially drained (needle did not reach into green zone but was not in red either). That makes sense since I had enough juice to turn the lights on but not enough to turn over the engine. After plugging it in, the display on the charger said "charging" and so I went away, came back some hours later, and it was done. Disconnected the charger and turned the key and the engine turned over like a jet. So based on that, I conclude that charger worked exactly as advertised. Hope that helps.

(More customer reviews)I purchased my first Power On Board 25 Amp Fully Automatic Battery Charger from Sam's Club for ten dollars more than the current Amazon price including shipping.The device, alternatively marketed as a Vector or Black & Decker product, requires only a single button push to automatically select the proper charging rate for the attached battery.The peak charge rate is 25A, but the unit can also pump out 75A for up to 1.5 minutes to jumpstart your car.

Lead-acid batteries that have remained in a discharged state for a long time internally build up lead sulfate which can inhibit normal charging. This charger has an operating mode designed to recondition sulfated batteries.

A cooling fan runs while charging, but turns off when charging is complete.The unit then automatically switches to float mode to maintain the battery at full charge.This is very important not only for convenience, but also to prolong battery life.Since the fan turns off after topping off the battery, it works well for building up relatively inexpensive, large capacity, indoor UPSs built around deep cycle batteries (make sure that the battery area is well ventilated and place the battery on an acid resistant drip pan to prevent damaging the floor).

(More customer reviews)I just got this charger - *beware* Amazon has falsely indicated that this unit supports battery reconditioning - It doesn't - that is why I got it! I can't tell if the other units have it or not as I don't believe amazon's site and B&D's doesn't say so - however the review on the VEC 1093 says it reconditions. AMAZON please update the desciptions and picts on these products to be more clear!

That said - the unit is well enough designed although I wish it didn't have a noisey fan running all the time and the control panel feels cheap - but it works. The readout of battery voltage is a nice touch. I would recommend this IF the VEC 1095 doesn't support reconditioning - otherwise I would spend the extra $ and get that one.

I still may return this if I can find out what the VEC 1095 has

(More customer reviews)I purchased this charger to charge the battery on my lawn tractor, that's all (although this will work for all of my vehicles too)!I didn't want aportable unit to jumpstart a vehicle or charge other accessories (this is just a vehicle batter charger like the box says).This charger is very simple to use with a one-touch button interface to get things going.I don't know anything about charging batteries or jumping vehicles but I was able to set this up and start charging in about 1 minute.

The included instructions are easy to follow and the charger is ready to go right out of the box.Connect the terminals per the instructions for what you are charging; plug the charger into a standard wall outlet (check for fault light indicating an incorrect connection) then press the one and only button to toggle to the desired amp level (explained in the instructions).

The amp levels are easy to see so selecting the correct one is easy to do.This charger is also fully automatic and will properly charge the battery on it's own at it's own pace for best performance and battery safety.The charger will tell you when it's done charging or if anything is wrong (if that's the case it will display the fault light or will just shut down).

I really like the foolproof design and features (the cables store in the back of the charger) of this simple easy to use charger.I'm not a very handy guy and electricity does make me a little nervous, but using this charger has been a great experience and a joy to use.Whether pro or beginner if you need a battery charger but are a little intimidated by the experience try this one you'll love it!
