(More customer reviews)This is what you're looking for!'Nuff said; but, I'll say more.I've been looking for the perfect set for a couple of years now and I think that state of the art hadn't caught up with what I knew we could do, until now.Want one?Wait no more, look no further, this is it!You need nothing more. I'm a big big guy, and I 'always' have trouble with fit, these already come with the microphone boom which is long enough. Installation was no problem at all.They go quickly onto the helmets, tight.The only modifications I made were to hide the earphone wiring.I cut small slits near the unit to slip the wiring into the padding, out of sight, and that's it.The ear speaker sound is supurb, so much volume, so much quality for such little speakers.No noise, blocks wind like you want and hope for.Excellent quality between driver and passenger for voice and music.We don't have two bikes, and ride two up but we got such a kick out of them the fist night we wore them into the house.She went before me, and I finished up at the bike.No loss of quality, no loss of signal.I think it would have no problem with two riders within a quarter mile or more.

My only complaint, is that the FM radio is hard to tune.With only four buttons on the whole thing, tuning is a pain.You have to press and hold the top button (for up) or the bottom button (for down) for three seconds to engage the auto tune, and they are HARD to press.The auto tune is not the greatest, and does not always find the station the first swing past.Not a problem, except for the sore fingers.Example: Go up and find station, move up and decide you like the last station better.Go down to previous station and it may or may not find it.I needed to tune to a specific frequency to use the built in FM transmitter in my GPS and had a very difficult time locating the signal; the signal strengh was stronger than some stations it found.In other words:it does not discriminate well in the scan mode while trying to find FM stations.I'd rather have had it do a slow to medium tune, up or down, than auto scan.But, don't let that stop you; I DID find my GPS stations, for both rider and passengers, I found most stations (eventually I'll have them all).Other than that, everything is exactly what I was hoping for.Married the Bluetooth to phone, no problem.Unit was already married to 2nd set in the box for the passenger. In my excitement I skipped the first page showing where all the buttons were, and what they were called. My fault, but easy to do.Don't do that.The extra headsets you see that you can buy separate are scala are compatible and identical to the ones that come with the two in this box.I ordered thinking my microphone boom may have been small, and it was not and works great.The booms in the box are the longer large ones. I highly recommend the whole thing.

GoPro HD Helmet HERO Camera Review

(More customer reviews)I have used this camera a couple of times since receiving it for Christmas.I have used both the strap mount for my vented bicycle helmet as well as the permanent stick on mount for my dual sport motorcycle helmet.In both cases, the mounts work as well as the camera.I still have the previous generation GoPro HERO in standard definition, but not in the wide field of view lens configuration like the current HD version.I like the wide field of view of this HD model.It is great at giving a very good view of both the trail as will as your handlebar movements while riding both my mountain bike or motorcycle.The quality of the video is fantastic.The files do get large, but that is to be expected with the high resolution of this camera.I have been using a 16GB SDHC card and have filed up about half of it on one battery charge.I would recommend a high speed card reader to improve the download times from the card.A 12 min video was nearly a gigabyte.The battery last I think longer than the previous standard definition camera which ran on AAA batteries.I think that I will buy an additional battery someday for long rides with lots of action.

The only reason I have not given it a full 5 stars is the difficulty in reading the small status screen with all the various modes it has. The same issue I have with the standard definition HERO. The icons that tell you if you are in burst, still, timed, or video mode are very small across the top of the display.The numbers to tell you the number of pictures or videos taken are much larger.It is just difficult if you have the camera mounted on top of your helmet and you try and look in the mirror on your bike to see if the camera is on and what mode it is.You have to use the select button on the front to both turn the camera on and select the right mode.The shutter button is on top and is easy to operator even with gloves. It is not difficult to read the display if you are holding the camera in front of you, but much more difficult when mounted on top of your helmet.You can unclip the camera from the mount, but that can be difficult when it is on top of your helmet.

I am looking forward to the expansion port options being available, like the LCD screen to view the videos in the field.I am also thinking of investing in the chest strap mount so I can get different view over the handle bars as will as making it easier to see the small status display.Other than the small icons telling you which mode, this is a very nice camera that takes very high quality action videos.It is very small and light and easy to use when you have it in the right mode.I would highly recommend this camera to anyone wanting action videos of their bicycling, motorcycle, or skiing activities.

(More customer reviews)I got the charger and was surprised how light it is first of all, like 1/2 the weight of a battery tender. Of course "Made in China" on the box, so I was not real hopeful. Remove it from the box and it looks like a well made unit. First hook it to the battery, then plug it in and it has the LEDs that indicate hookup is correct ect, then the bottom charge light lights, the next 3 light above it flash to indicate charging, then the lights to the right of there indicate the approx percent of charge the battery is at. I volt tested the battery before hooking it up and it was sitting at 11.4 so definately in need of charge. The 25% charge light was lit, then quickly moved up to 75%. Hooked a logging multimeter up for an amp test the entire time. Initial hookup showed 2.5A, tapering down gradually to 0.7A. Entire charge took 6 1/2 hours, then the charge light goes off, the 100% light is lit and the charger goes into storage mode. In this mode the charger sits at 0A and pulses a quick burst of 1.5A at intervals of about 5 seconds apart. It equates to an average of only about 0.10A. So the charger does truly shut down and go into storage mode as advertised and can be left on indefinately and not cook the battery. Two more things I like about it are it's silent, where the battery tender can be buzzy and runs barely warm to the touch where the battery tender gets dang hot. I'm impressed.

(More customer reviews)Received the EKLIPES motorcycle GPS adapter. Mounted it on my bike.Tried to use the waterproof cover attached to the adapter and found it was TOO BIG to fit in the adapter... How in blazes do they sell something like that? Had to use my dremel to grind the cover down to size to fit. The only word that comes to mind is "incompetance". How does something like that get by product developemnent and product testing? Oh I know, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY!

Needless to say, I don't recommend this product... unless you've got your dremel handy.

ACCUMATE BATTERY CHARGER - NO HAZARD BATTERIES - Review

(More customer reviews)I acquired this along with a Westco Battery after my trusty Sears charger bit the dust.In general, I'm neutral on it after owning it for about a month now.

I think this is designed for motorcycle owners who keep their bikes in an enclosed garage with a 115VAC outlet close at hand.In that scenario, used for overnight charging, this is probably a useful charger.

In my case, the bike is at the end of a carport, definitely not nearby my condominium, and I can't string electrical power to the bike.My normal operating procedure when faced with a low battery was to roll the bike to a spot near my unit, run a heavy extension cord, and charge for a couple of hours.So, to be fair, my situation is not ideal for any charger.

However, using the Accumate is suboptimal for me.First, it's designed to provide a slow charge, tapering off as the battery approaches a full charge.Once that's achieved, the green LED comes on, and you are good to go.However, that process takes a while.With my older charger, I had a gauge, which gave me some idea how close I was to completion, and allowed the option of stopping charging and going for a ride to complete the process.(Some will object that the slow charging process will provide the best battery life, and they are right.But that's not feasible in my situation, and my battery life is not optimal anyway due to the bike being in freezing temperatures occasionally.)

So, with the Accumate, I have to remove the battery and charge it overnight on the patio.(I do not charge batteries within enclosed spaces to avoid the possibility of a hydrogen explosion.So it's always done outside.)

This brings up a second issue - the unit is not ideal for outside use.The cooling vents on the top of the charger allow rainfall to enter the unit.Fortunately, the Accumate was not plugged in during the rain.

Additionally, the AC power cord seems problematic - it only makes connection at specific angles.The unit has not been dropped or dangled bu the cord, so I have to question the assembly quality.(This was before the rain -- no connection.)

So...Plusses are a charge designed to support battery life, compact size, and design specific to motorcycles.Negatives are simplistic indicators and longish charging time.

If your garage is a shrine to your motorcycle(s), then the Accumate may be a good choice for you.If you don't have a garage, then you may want to save the money and apply it to a regular automotive battery charger with a slow (1-2 amp) cycle instead.I'm not sure that I would buy this again.

Since it cost about $1800 dollars to replace those batteries I am interested in getting as long a life as possible.It has been in place for about 2 weeks and so far it is doing what I expected. The batteries hold a charge longer than before.This type of battery in Arizona normally lasts about 4 years, and this set is 18 months old and beginning to show its age.But with this device installed they are back to about95% of what they were when they were new.My only complaint is about the temperature sensor that can be used with the unit, it does not come with the device, but is an extra cost option. I think it should be included since it provides a feature of the device.

Schumacher MC-1 Manual Trickle Charger Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this item because, at the time, it was advertised as shutting down when the charge was full. I see that this error has now been corrected on Amazon's web page. I wanted to use it to keep the battery on my tractor from discharging and freezing while the tractor was in the barn over the winter. However when I received it, the manual stated that it must be disconnected after full charge is done. If you can live with that, it should be fine. I never actually tried using it, as it didn't meet my requirements. Congrat's to Amazon for correcting the description.

Duracell D2A 2 AMP 12V Battery Maintainer / Charger Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted a charger to keep my car battery charged (but not overcharged!) while I am absent on multi-week trips.So far the Duracell 2 Amp charger seems to be working well.

It is a three-stage charger.The specification says that depending on the current state of the battery, it will do a fast charge to around 80%, then a slower charge to almost full, then finally move to a lower voltage "floating" charge to keep the battery near 100% without overcharging.

I used a multimeter to watch the charging process.My battery was mostly full to start with, so the charger started charging at 14.1 volts (the slow charge mode) and then after a few hours moved to 12.7 volts (for the floating charge).These both seem appropriate voltages.In particular, the floating voltage of 12.7 volts should be safe for long-term battery maintenance.

After about two days on floating charge, my charger's red charging light finally went off.Over the next couple of weeks, when I checked the charger, the red charging light was mostly off but I occasionally noticed it on.It looks like the charger is moving between off and floating charge as needed for sustained maintenance.

I'll have to see how the charger holds up under long-term use, but so far everything looks good.

Update November 2010: I've been using this for two years now and I continue to be very happy with it.It's pleasant to come back from a four week absence to a fully charged car battery, with zero hassles!

(More customer reviews)I got this for the same reason anyone would want a charger/maintainer... and that is to charge a battery and keep it there. I have a classic British sports car that I rarely drive, and until I started using this charger I would return to my car to a dead battery. This charger/maintainer comes with everything you need to quickly connect and disconnect this item, in 3 different ways: eye hole connectors to permanently attach the quick connector to your battery for very easy use, large alligator type clips for temporary use on a car that you want to just charge the battery on, and for super easy use there is a plug for use in the 12volt power outlet or cigar lighter. It has power sensing, so you cant over charge, and it will maintain the proper voltage for as long as it is connected. The wires are long enough from the charger itself to stretch across any car, and the power cable is about 8 feet long. Great little charger/maintainer. I would recommend this to anyone.
