(More customer reviews)I've had the MK 210 installed for one month now and it has done great so far. This is my first onboard charger and it is a huge convenience. It also does a better job than my previous charger (Shumacher Ship 'N Shore 15/10/2 Amp) of getting the batteries to a truly full charge (13.1V). I think this must be due to the MK's three phase charging scheme. I love that I can leave it plugged in and let it go into "maintenance" mode after the batteries are fully charged.

I'm using it to charge four deep-cycle marine batteries. I have two battery banks, each with a battery switch (BEP Mini Battery Selectors). I hooked the positive terminals from the MK to the battery switches so I can do a targeted charge of 2 depleted batteries at once or just charge all 4 at the same time. :)

(More customer reviews)Charger got very, very hot when charging but it did charge battery (deep cycle battery).It actually heated up the room it was in.Went to fully charged condition at about 7 amps as opposed to 5 amps that the mfger said it would do.I previously had a Schumacher charger and it worked well for 20 yrs..I returned charger.

(More customer reviews)This is the second Schumacher charger I own, the first quit after very little use.I purchased this as a replacement.I used the jumpstart feature twice, that stopped working after the second use.The charger is spotty, sometimes it works, most often it tells me that the battery is 100% charged while in fact it does not have enough power to start the engine - it has done this with several batteries.Often I have to try several times before it finally starts charging.A waste of money, I am looking for another brand.

(More customer reviews)I put this charger on my 32' sailboat that has two large wet cell deep cycle marine batteries.Installation was straightforward, except the wires between the charger and the batteries are only about 4' long.I had to lengthen these to be able to mount the charger where it would get good cooling air flow, and also be able to see the indicator lights easily.

The indicators are nice, except I wish they had picked a different color to show that a "wet cell" battery had been selected.They use a red LED.Red means trouble (normally), so this is a bit misleading.Otherwise the indicator LEDs are nice because they show if you have shore power working, and also the charging status of the batteries.It's nice to know at a glance that your batteries are fully charged.

I will update this review as I get more experience with the charger.

(More customer reviews)First, let me say that this charger performs flawlessly and deserves five stars when it is in charging mode. I have used it for three years and hundreds of successful charging cycles on a dozen different batteries of various sizes and types.

However, on two different occasions and with two different batteries (both brand new when hooked to the charger) I left them in "trickle charge" mode. The batteries were part of an emergency communications station that must to be ready at any time with full batteries. This charger burned up both batteries after three months of trickle charging. This mode is supposed to allow a battery to be hooked up indefinitely and maintain it at peak performance. Not destroy it. Other folks in the emergency communications service use other chargers and leave them in trickle mode for years. DO NOT use this charger for that kind of operation.
