(More customer reviews)Bought the pink one at full price ($44.95) as a Christmas present for my wife who has constant cold hands (especially on a ski lift!).The unit does get comfortably warm (during 25F ski hill temperatures)...I really should measure the temperatures in a follow-up though...but the run times are no where near the advertised 3 hours...how the heck did they get that number!
On a full charge of the Eneloops (measured at just over 2000mAh and 1.44V using a La Crosse BC-9009...which BTW is being returned due to it being a fire hazard...but that's another story) the unit runs for just over an hour on low...OR 45 minutes on medium.I did not time the "Turbo" mode...but I'd wager it would not run for longer than 30 minutes (I think Turbo auto turns off anyways...so you cannot really run it constantly in that mode anyways).Not worth the $44.95 IMHO...maybe closer to $20.
Still not a bad choice if you need heat intermittently (like on a ski lift) and if you can carry a few sets of spare batteries.I'm not a huge fan of chemical hand warmers...you cannot really turn them off after they're activated.I think I'll try the zippo next:
